Winter 2013 Color Trends

Sweater Topshop, Strapless Dress Rebecca Taylor, Jeans J Brand, Polka Dot Sequin Top J.Crew, Booties ModCloth

Blazer Dorothy Perkins, Gloves ModCloth, Knitted Snood French Connection, Cross Body Bag Rebecca Minkoff, Sweater Michael Kors

Peplum Top French Connection, Flats Steve Madden, Necklace Blu Bijoux, Blouse Equipment, Jeans TopShop

Unfortunately winter has arrived with the freezing weather, and although it may be snowing outside, we can still have fun with color! These three palettes make up the perfect color trends for this current winter season. Neutrals, nudes, and creamy whites are great base colors to create an outfit around. In the cool palette above, I'm loving all the bold greens and blue hues that are rich and definitely make a statement. Warm colors add a soft yet colorful feel to your look in the winter. My favorites are pumpkin orange and bright red. As you can see, just because it's winter it does not mean you have to stick to neutral or base colors. Although those are great layering and foundations, deep tones and rich bold shades can easily be worn during the colder months.

3 Ways To Wear A Party Dress

Dress Ted Baker, Necklace Kendra Scott, Pumps Steven Fearles, Bag Coach, Faux Fur Vest Topshop

A LBD can be worn to almost any occasion and they are especially functional this time of year. I had the opportunity to wear this Ted Baker LDB for an event. It was one of the most comfortable dresses I have ever worn! Although this is a fitted dress with a zipper down the back, the soft stretchy material makes it wearable for a long period of time. The peplum adds a pretty detail, and I like that it doesn't go across the entire front of the dress which makes it a little different. I created 3 festive outfits that could be worn with this dress. Black dresses are so versatile. There are endless ways to style it. To make it even better this dress is now on sale at ASOS!!! :)

Holiday Nails

The other day I felt like being festive, so I added a little glitter to my nails. I decided to create a glitter accent with my Chanel nail polish that is a beautiful deep red color with a little shimmer to it. For the accented nail, I used Nicole by OPI in "tip of the iceberg (similar one here). This is a really sheer sparkly nail polish, so to get it to have the ultimate glitter effect, I used a nude nail polish first. I used Essie "sheer bliss" and then added 4 coats of the glitter nail polish. Between each layer I let it sit for at least a minute or more to make sure each coat was dry enough to add another layer. Once all my nails were painted, I coated them with Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat. This is by far the best top coat I have ever used. It gives a perfect finish, makes my nail polish last a week, and it dries pretty fast. I would definitely recommend using this top coat. I always try new ones but constantly go back to this one. I love playing with nail polish, however, sometimes doing wild designs or patterns can be hard. If you are looking for a simple and elegant festive way to paint your nails for the holidays, then this is a perfect look.

Thanksgiving Break

Vest - Marshalls, Sweater - Ted Baker {similar}, Jeans - Rock and Repbulic, Boots - Chinese Laundry, Sunglasses - RayBans

Every year my family changes locations for Thanksgiving, and this year it was at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Maryland, right outside of Baltimore. Once all the Thanksgiving actives were done, we were able to head to Baltimore's harbor for a fun day of exploring and shopping! We walked all around the harbor and then took a water taxi over to Fells Point. To me this break went by way too quickly. I just cant wait for the next 2 weeks to be over! I still can't believe I only have one semester left of college. So crazy! I hope everyone had a wonderful break.

I wore my over the knee Chinese Laundry boots to walk around in as they are super comfortable. I wear them all the time. They are the perfect color and go with almost anything! If anyone is looking for new boots to purchase for this winter, I definitely recommend these boots. I love the look of high boots especially with dark skinny jeans or pants.
