Four Favorites

Valentine's Day

1. Golden Edibles Chocolate Covered Strawberries $70
2. Stila Love Blush Palette $14
3. Dorothy Perkins Mini Heart Sweater $49
4. Amanda Catherine Designs Valentine's Day Print $15

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays! It mostly has to do with all the red and pink hearts, flowers, and chocolates. Many people dread when February 14th rolls around, however, I think it should be a day to reflect on all the great things you love in your life. You don't need a special someone in order to celebrate. Whether you are celebrating with friends or family, it should be a fun day filled with lots of love, and of course chocolate! Here are four of my favorite Valentine's Day gift ideas for friends, family, or just yourself.

My absolute favorite is chocolate covered strawberries, because well, who doesn't love this amazing / semi-healthy desert? Next is the Stila Love blush palette. It comes in this cute packaging and has four shimmery shades that can either be blended together to make a natural looking color or worn separately. However you wear it, this palette will have your face looking beautifully radiant and will be perfect to wear on Valentine's Day to add a little color to your cheeks. My third pick was this Dorothy Perkins heart sweater. Sweaters with hearts on them are so adorable and sweet so I couldn't resist when I saw this one with a mini heart print. I like that instead of one large heart it has a playful pattern. My favorite part about this sweater is that one of the hearts is outlined with sequins. This adds a unique festive touch to the basic sweater. It is definitely a sweater that can be worn all winter long. The fourth item I choose was this "Give Me Candy Hearts And Kisses" poster print from the Etsy shop called Amanda Catherine Designs. She has so many beautiful prints that are all perfect for Valentine's Day. I'm also loving the ones here and here.

To make these four items even better, they are all under $100! No matter who you are purchasing these items for, you won't need to spent a fortune to get that perfect Valentine's Day treat.

Party Shorts

{Images via Pinterest}

1. Topshop

Looking for a party dress alternative? These dressy shorts are a perfect substitute. Wearing a textured, embellished, or print short will make a huge unexpected statement. I really like that you don't need to wear a standard party dress for a night out. These shorts give you the flexibility to have fun and experiment with different outfits.  I especially love them when paired with tights, which also make them wearable even in the winter. Pair yours with a loose fitting blouse, tights, ankle booties, a cute clutch, and fun jewelry for a effortlessly glam look.

Miss Wu

Jason Wu's extremely ladylike designs have always been way out of budget for many people. But now the designer is introducing a Miss Wu collection which is a contemporary, more affordable line that is exclusively available at Nordstrom! The 40 piece collection features beautiful soft and delicate prints, as well as textured A-line and shift dresses that have a mod feel. Striped tops and floral skirts with small details such as bows and sequins are also included. The collection retails from $195 to $795, which is a huge price drop compared to a Jason Wu collection item that averages around $1,700. Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the collection. Which are your favorite pieces?

5. Ash

I've never been a huge fan of wearing sneakers as casual shoes for the day since they remind me of working out. However, this new take on sneakers has me rethinking wearing sneakers as an everyday shoe. These wedge sneakers are not only cool and comfortable, but they also give you a few extra inches! These high-tops blend a laid-back vibe and definitely amp up the look of sneakers. The trendy styles come in bright and neutral colors that are sure to add a fun touch to any outfit. What do you think about this wedge sneaker trend?

24 Ways To Wear A Scarf

I am a huge scarf lover. I think I have over 20 scarves! In the winter I always throw one on either as a colorful accessory or to keep me warm. Depending on the type of scarf, there are multiple ways you can wear and tie them. I decided to play around and create a bunch of different and pretty ways to wear them. Wearing your scarf the same way everyday can be boring, so here are 24 different ways to tie your scarves! A few of these are very simple, where others take a little more time with twisting and looping it around your neck. How do you like to wear your scarf?

Few Favorites

{L'Oreal Smooth Serum & Biosilk Silk Therapy}

{Essie Aruba Blue}

{Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner}

{Bag Balm, Fresh Sugar Rose, Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush}

{Garnier BB Cream, Benefit Erase Paste, GloMinerals Lengthening Mascara}

Here are a few of my favorite products that I am currently using.
The L'Oreal Smooth Serum and Biosilk Silk Therapy are great for reducing frizz and taming hair. I use the L'Oreal Serum after I wash my hair and focus on the bottom and strands of my hair avoiding the roots. When my hair is dry (and usually frizzy) I definitely need a frizz serum. I like to use a pea size amount of the Biosilk and spread it through my hair. It smells amazing and removes all my frizz.

I love trying new nail polish color and when I saw this color from Essie I was instantly drawn to it. I love the deep blue color and that it has a little bit of a shine to it. I don't usually wear dark blue nail polish but I am definitely in love with this color. Its a perfect winter blue color.

Lately, my hair has been feeling very dry and rough from the winter weather. I tried the Redken color extend shampoo and conditioner and was really impressed by how well it worked. I don't have color treated hair, but this shampoo and conditioner is great for repairing dry and damaged hair. I really recommend this product, plus it smells so good!

Now onto lip products. In the winter I notice that my lips get chapped easily, so I am always wearing lip balms and chap sticks to protect them. My all time favorite product for chapped lips is Bag Balm. It comes in a large or small green tin. I like the small one so I can throw it in my bag and take it with me, but I also have the larger tin that I've had for years! A small amount goes a long way with the Bag Balm which is great for it last for awhile. I put this on every night and wake up with soft, not chapped lips. Fresh is another one of my favorites. Fresh lip balms are amazing. They are so soft and make your lips really smooth.  This one is in the Rose color which is nice because it gives your lips a little bit of color. The last one is the Victoria's Secret lip gloss. I don't usually wear lip glosses because I don't like how sticky they are, but this one surprised me as it wasn't sparkly or sticky. The color is really red in the tube, but doesn't look that red when you put it on. It only gives you a slight color which I like.

BB Creams are popping up everywhere. I tried this one from Garnier. The formula isn't too thick where you feel like you have a lot of make up on but it will still give you the look of flawless skin. It makes my skin really soft and will even your skin tone. Erase Paste by Benefit is one of my favorite concealers. It is a creamy yet semi thick concealer. It's a good product for covering any red spots or to use under your eyes. The last item (its hard to read in the picture) is a lengthening mascara by GloMinerals. I already have really long lashes so its hard to tell if this mascara works, but I really like to use it as it makes my lashes look even longer and thicker.

What are some of your favorite beauty items? I would love to know, I'm always interested in trying new products.

Stripes and Pleated Skirt

Black Stripes

Sweater Romwe / Necklace Kate Spade / Belt Guess / Skirt Steffen Schraut / Hair Surf Spray Bumble and Bumble / Heels Miu Miu (on sale!)

I love this classic look with a striped sweater and pleated skirt. It takes a simple outfit to the next level by adding a pattern and texture. Accessories do not always need to be a main focus but rather help pull an outfit together. Adding a studded bow belt and pretty flower Kate Spade necklace to make it look complete. In the image, she has soft, slightly messy waves. I really like this casual hairstyle with this outfit as it doesn't make it feel too stuffy and keeps a carefree feel. The Bumble and Bumble surf spray is perfect for creating this hairstyle.

Bundle Up

Bundle Up

Although I hate being cold, I do love winter for the fact that I get to bundle up in warm cozy sweaters, comfy sweat pants, big blankets, and drink hot chocolate. These items above are perfect for keeping you warm on cold days whether you are inside snuggling up on the couch or outside facing the cold air. I love knits, so the infinity scarf, gloves, and head turban are a few of my favorite cold weather pieces. Not only are they super adorable, but they really keep you warm without sacrificing your style. How cute are the Dorothy Perkins gloves? I love the fact that they are fingerless which allows you to still do things such as using a smart phone, and the little bow with pearls is a girly detail.  The UGG classic tall boots are another one of my favorites. I own two pairs, in chestnut and black. Although I don't wear them as much as I used to, they are still one of my favorite and softest winter boots. They are like walking on clouds! I love to wear them with baggy sweat pants when I'm just lounging around. I would definitely recommend getting a pair! What are some of your favorite items that keep you warm in the winter?
