High-low hems are becoming a huge trend for spring and summer. I love the combination of a flirty mini-skirt with a longer maxi. This is such a lovely trend to experiment with, from tees to tanks, skirts, and dresses. These dresses and skirts have a romantic and elegant appeal that makes them feel extra special. The asymmetrical hemline gives you the option to show off cute heels, or dress it down with flat sandals. High-low hemlines are casual, yet dramatic, which creates an appealing visual interest. Here are a few of my favorites. I love this style in pastels, bold patterns, stripes, and abstract designs.
Here are a few things that have made me smile this past week. I am definitely excited the weekend is finally here. Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)

I recently started wearing watches, and although I still use my phone to check the time, I love watches that can be worn as a fun accessory. I have always felt that watches look and feel masculine, but when I saw these gorgeous Kate Spade watches they instantly changed my mind. These watches are functional, sleek, flirty, and are the perfect arm candy for spring. I love the gold watches with large faces, as well as her bangle watches that can easily be mistaken as a bracelet. Pair them with a bunch of fun bracelets, or let the watch stand out on its own. Either way, you can't go wrong with any of these watches as they are all fabulous.
When March rolls around, I always get excited thinking about spring break. Being in college, this time is definitely needed to relax and catch up on sleep. Whether you are still in college, or just dreaming of a spring vacation, here are few must have items. If your plans include traveling to a tropical island, or spending your time relaxing at home, these are perfect items to take on a trip or to start buying as spring quickly approaches. I can't wait for my spring break in a few weeks. What are your spring break plans?
I always love a playful print, and currently I have been crushing on conversational prints. These adorable prints are great for spring, and are a sweet and fun way to add patterns to your wardrobe. Conversational prints are recognizable images, which can be anything from animals, to boats, plants, etc. These are absolutely a must have for spring. They can be found in so many different styles including shirts, pants, dresses, and scarves. Here are some charming conversational prints that I can't wait to buy!

My weekend was pretty uneventful, between working, catching up on class assignments, and losing an hour, I barely had time to relax. I've been so excited that the weather is getting warmer. I was finally able to go out without a coat! Here are some random snapshots, as well as a few from my weekend. What did everyone else do this weekend?

Here are a few of my favorite makeup products that I use everyday, or for a fun night out. I love the Laura Mercier concealer. I have been using this product for about a year and love how it blends into my skin. I am always trying new moisturizers and I really like the Neutrogena light tint moisturizer. It is sheer and keeps my skin soft, as well as gives me a light color coverage. I wear eyeliner almost everyday, and the M.A.C pencil eyeliner is my favorite. The color goes on extremely easy and stays on all day. The Cover Girl LashBlast Luxe mascara is one I am always going back to. I like how it makes my eyelashes look super thick and long. Smashbox photo finish color correcting primer isn't something I use everyday, but is great for when I need extra coverage. This primer is lightweight and perfect as a base for covering up blemishes or any red spots. I use Dermablend setting powder to keep my make up lasting all day. I am not very big on wearing eye shadow, but I adore Bobbi Brown's metallic eye shadows. I use velvet plum as the purple shade, and metallic shimmer brings out my green eyes. What are your favorite makeup products? I would love to know!
One of my favorite brands is Ella Moss. This is my go to brand for spring and summer styles. I love all the feminine prints, soft flowing fabrics, bright color palettes, and simple shapes. Items offer vintage styles with a bohemian twist, that can work in almost anyone's wardrobe. Each piece can be worn with basic jeans and flip-flops or dressed up with some heels. The Ella Moss website describes their customer as girl who "travels the world and falls in love easily. She listens to feel-good music and drives with the windows down. She shops at flea markets and thinks a beach vacation is the best kind of vacation. She smiles easily and laughs a lot-often at herself. And she is, of course, the girl who knows how to dress up a tee and dress down a dress." I think this absolutely describes their customers as well as their comfortable and fashionable clothing. Here are a few of my favorite items from their spring 2012 collection. They are all definitely perfect for dressing casual in spring and summer!
Peplum styles have been shown all over the runway this past season, and now it is becoming a super flirty and ladylike trend for spring. The fabulous thing about this trend is that it can go from casual to dressy, and even be appropriate for a professional look. The exaggerated shape helps fake an hourglass shape, and creates the look of slimmer legs. Must have peplum styles include cocktail dresses, mini skirts, and even shirts. My favorite look is a peplum cocktail dress. This is a style that will definitely turn heads especially in the form of a LBD. I found these two black peplum style cocktail dresses that are perfect for any dressy occasion. I love the simplicity of the Stella McCartney dress as well as the fun gold embellishments on the ASOS dress. Keep jewelry and other accessories simple as the dress can stand out on its own.
Stella McCartney - $875
ASOS - $175.47 (ON SALE!)
Other ways to wear this trend..
Skirts
Peplum skirts look best when styled with a simple top and a sturdy heels to complement the skirt's bold shape.
Matthew Williamson - $550 // Alice + Olivia - $198
Tops
This top is super simple to wear and would look chic paired with a streamlined pencil skirt or sleek pants.
As you might have noticed from an earlier post here, I love nail polish! Its one of my favorite ways to add a pop of color. When I was younger and I would go get manicures, they would always add a cute little flower design on my ring fingers. Today, nail art is becoming huge, and more detailed than a little flower. I am so amazed by detailed flowers, symmetrical shapes, animal prints, and so much more that can all be done with just nail polish! I wish I was capable of creating gorgeous designs on my nails. Until that day comes, I'll just keep admiring these ones...
